The Project

This was a commission from HarperCollins to overhaul Independent Thinking, the mag-brochure for independent bookshops. We recognised
the brand desperately needed a serious facelift plus a new website
to enable the trade marketing team to do their job more successfully.

The Solution

This became a ground-up redesign for the magazine to increase the editorial content while still showcasing the new season’s books. We designed a strong, simplistic logo to successfully perform across all relevant media including the magazine, website and marketing assets.

The End Result

The new look was well received by all the imprints within HarperCollins and the team are delighted they now have a great product for independent bookshops backed up by a strong digital offering. The clean design and readability of the magazine has provided booksellers with a far better way of engaging with authors – both new and established. The launch issue is currently  available and the site is now live.

Barry’s concept for indie thinking has been fantastic – giving an established project a fresh design and new lease of life across print, digital and social platforms.
