Toyota GB

It’s always pleasing to get to work for companies whose products you admire and in an industry you’ve liked since you were a kid.

So, when a phone call from a good friend turns from being a nice catch up into a work call for his employer (Toyota) you can’t help but smile. It’s a pleasure to announce that Supercharger Design Co. have been completing a project for Toyota GB’s PR team and hope to be working with them in an ongoing capacity. Both pieces were designed to accompany press releases for the UK automotive publishing world and both briefs were left open for my own imagination and creative direction.

Hybrid sales announcement

With Toyota having reached the 10 million mark in global hybrid vehicle sales, the UK team wanted a graphic to accompany this milestone announcement. Having the Toyota library at my disposal and a request to use a 2017 model I came across a simple and elegant overhead shot of the latest Prius and knew straight away how this could be used to visualise the announcement. It’s a simple, bold piece of design which compliments the strong message and I was pleased the team at Toyota agreed and chose this from the selection sent over.

2016 Car of the Year nominee

A few weeks later the Toyota team asked me to create an infographic to back up the 2016 Car of the Year shortlist nomination of the new C-HR. I was supplied with a list of quotes and facts that would remind those in the annual award of the praise the car had garnered on launch and what made it so special. Again, I was helped by the quality of imagery in the Toyota library and from there set about adding the design elements without ruining the image of the car. With this being a tight deadline I focussed on the one visual that we all agreed on and the team at Toyota tweaked the text to fit the design.
